Touring with Jay-Z has been "amazing and surreal" for R and B artist, Trey Songz.
"It's like a dream come true, even though it sounds cliché," Songz said. "I remember going to see as many Jay-Z shows as I could."
You can watch them both perform at the Pepsi Center on March 22, or if you miss out on the show Songz will be on MTV's Spring Break on TV.
Songz's albums "I Gotta Make It" and "Trey Day" garnered him three top ten singles: "Girl Tonight," "Last Time," and "Can't Help But Wait," which Songz was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Songz remembered going to Jay-Z's 'The Black Album' concert in Madison Square Garden, as a child.
"I just performed at the Gardens, so it's definitely surreal," Songz said.
Jay-Z has talked to Songz about his performance.
"He watches me, and that's what makes him such a great businessman," Songz said. "He watches everyone's show and wants the greatest production. He allows me to use his light man and anything I need. He has been a great help, and he wants the best of show package."
MTV's 'Spring Break' 2010 is another thing Songz is looking forward to.
"I remember always watching MTV's 'Spring Break' when I was in high school, so it's crazy that I will be performing on it. But, it will be fun to be that artist performing there, and one of the many artists. I'm honored. We'll have fun and shut it down."
MTV Spring Break 2010 kicks off March 22nd with performances from B.o.B, Ludacris, Young Money Crew, Pitbull and Songz. They're on MTV, MTV2, mtvU and MTV.com.
In August of 2008, Songz created Songz for Peace with community activist Noonie Ward in Chicago's crime-ridden south side and his native Petersburg.
The organization is youth-centered and travels to cities to teach young people about the dangers of violence.
"Songz for Peace is an initiative for youth, to motivate them to be non-violent," he said. "We do that with inner city education.
"I might give out 500 book bags for back to school, or donate to a charity or homeless shelters for kids, or give them Nintendo Wiis, Playstations or Xboxes. For Thanksgiving we give away 500 turkeys. Sometimes we have panelists that the kids talk to, like the chief officer of the police department ...
"I eventually plan to give kids scholarships ... so we plan to grow."
Songz for Peace is scheduled to visit several more cities across America this year, including Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Baltimore.
